Skillogalee
Reisling 2008 $19.99
Review by Mr.D
Rieslings used to be awful, astringent things that made your mouth pucker. Then, suddenly, they weren't like that anymore. Now your average Aussie Riesling is a far more palatable drop and Skillogalee, with its citrus fruit and refreshing acidity packs more flavour than most.
I originally started ordering this because the staff at my local Asian restaurant couldn't pronounce it, and that made them laugh, which was nice. But I kept ordering it because I like it! |

Brown Brothers
2005 Moscato $12.99
This current release is a light straw colour with some youthful green tinges showing. The nose is lifted with aromas of freshly crushed grapes, musk and melon characters. In the mouth the wine is vibrant and mouth filling with a sherbet like flavour. A wine of universal appeal the retained carbon dioxide gives a frizzante effect – the result a lively and fresh wine in the mouth. Serve well chilled. |

Cockatoo Ridge
Sparkling Burgundy $9.99
Review by Mr.D
I love Sparkling Burgundy and I don't care who knows it! Particularly during the warmer months, it makes a nice change from white wine when a red just seems too heavy to cope with. Cockatoo Ridge Sparkling Burgundy is a good example of the breed too. Well priced and packed with complex flavours of fruit balanced with a nice grape acidity. This wine goes well with meaty Asian dishes, in my experience, or with no food at all... |
